Explain your company’s
products/services and the needs
they fill.
We process aluminum and steel
— precision blanking, slitting,
laser welding, cut to length,
configured and straight, milling
and wash and oil — plus provide
warehousing and logistics for our
customers.
If you did not start your business,
how and when did you begin
ownership of your company?
My father started in business
in 1973. I am a proud
second-generation Hispanic
businesswoman. I continue to run
the family’s companies, as well
as our own, with a great family
and team.
What values have led to — and
continue to support — your
business acumen? Share your
business philosophy and its
influence on your success.
A lot of hard work. You must put
the time into the business. It will
not run itself. Succession planning
is key and should start as soon
as possible because it is not an
overnight process. My parents
taught us to take ownership in all
we do — good or bad. Work hard,
learn from your mistakes and take
care of your community.
What are the bigger challenges
and barriers you’ve faced as a
business owner? How have you
overcome them?
We are a second-generation
business; there is so much to
know, learn and constantly watch.
Fortunately for me, my sister,
brothers and I have the best
mentor in business anyone could
ask for — my father.
What are the benefits of being
part of the WBENC network?
I view the working together
aspect as huge. WBENC puts
stock into businesses succeeding;
they mentor, introduce and follow
up — the whole package.
